Pax Humana Foundation facilitated the visit of a high-profile Rwandan delegation comprising representatives from the Rwanda Development Board, Crystal Ventures Ltd, Private Sector Federation, and National Industrial Research and Development Agency to attend Lineapelle and Simac Tanning Tech. These are the most significant international exhibitions showcasing machinery, technology, accessories, components, leather, and fabrics for the footwear, leather goods, and tanning industries.
The Rwandan delegation had the opportunity to meet, interact with, and learn from leading Italian companies in the sector, exploring potential synergies and collaborations for the development of the leather industry in Rwanda. Additionally, during this visit, the delegation toured the Leather District of Santa Croce sull’Arno, one of the largest and most renowned in Europe.
The visit, organized by Italprogetti in collaboration with the National Tanning Industry Association (UNIC), followed a previous assessment conducted by the same parties in May 2023 in Kigali. This preliminary study, promoted by Pax Humana Foundation, aimed to gain insights into and evaluate the Rwandan leather industry system.
This initiative is part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Foundation and the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) dated December 7, 2022. The purpose of this agreement is to promote initiatives supporting the economic, cultural, and social growth of Rwanda.
