Originally, the term Wider Mediterranean emerged in the 1980s to denote a military strategic area. Today, the Pax Humana Foundation interprets it as an area of mutual opportunity, growth, and cohesion for the countries that compose it.
The Wider Mediterranean, as a geographical area, extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Persian Gulf: a group of countries connected culturally, economically, politically, and geographically. It represents a diverse yet interconnected geopolitical landscape, where continents may serve as dividers, but the sea serves as a unifying force.
Within this shared space, the Pax Humana Foundation emerges as a global hub, a reservoir of interdisciplinary expertise adept at consistently monitoring and evaluating the Mediterranean’s progression towards peace, stability, and development.
